At Oppnergy, our mission has always been to empower individuals through mentorship, skill development, and professional growth. Over the past cohorts, we have observed an important pattern—commitment and seriousness tend to increase when individuals invest in their personal development. It is commonly said that when people pay, they pay attention, and this has guided our decision to implement a $100 registration fee for those joining the Oppnergy community in Cameroon.
Why Are We Implementing This Fee?
This decision is based on three key factors:
1. To Ensure Seriousness & Commitment
One of the biggest challenges we’ve faced in past cohorts is inconsistency. Many individuals join but do not fully engage, leading to wasted mentorship opportunities. By introducing a registration fee, we are ensuring that only those who are truly dedicated and ready to commit to the program will participate.
2. To Sustain & Improve the Mentorship Program
As a non-profit initiative, Oppnergy is not looking to make a profit. However, running a high-impact mentorship program comes with real costs—from supporting our dedicated mentors to covering logistical expenses. The registration fee will directly contribute to:
✅ Supporting mentors who dedicate their time and expertise
✅ Covering essential resources for mentorship and training
✅ Ensuring the sustainability and quality of the Oppnergy program
3. Scholarships & Financial Aid for Those in Need
While the $100 registration fee applies to new members in Cameroon, we understand that not everyone may be able to afford it. Oppnergy is committed to inclusivity, and for this reason, we have set up scholarship opportunities and financial aid programs.
Individuals who cannot afford the fee can:

🔹 Receive full or partial scholarships based on available funding from Oppnergy or its partners
Our goal is not to make money but to create a structured, serious, and effective mentorship system while also providing opportunities for those who truly need them.

Just like any other non-profit, Oppnergy must ensure long-term sustainability. Relying solely on donations is not always reliable, and having a structured self-sustaining model allows us to continue providing value, expanding our reach, and making an impact.
